Your Light, My Own

2/11/2019
i see light in your eyes
that's gone missing from my own
what once burned like a thousand suns
has perished into a dying star
but your eyes still burn
still glow
a thousand galaxies cannot compare
to the light in your eyes
they spread joy and hope
across a universe so dark
they are a spark in the night
igniting the sky in flames
your light shines so bring
it reminds me how
my own used to shine
and maybe one day
will again
