Worry, I Flurry

by ·

6/18/2023
In a constant state of worry, I flurry
She surely didn’t mean to hurt me
Yet... alas; what’s passed is past
I know this won’t be the last
time I hear the sobs, the tears
riddled with unbridled fears
how can I soothe, closer I move
an outreached hand, what I can do
to help remind you
you’re safe

When you’re scared you go on the attack
saying things you can’t take back
I try not to show, ‘cause deep down I know
hurtful words: you may throw
but I know that you don’t truly mean
things aren’t always as they seem
when feelings of anger fill the air
remember love is about repair
forever I’ll share
my heart

We come together—a family
blooming taller from life’s seed
we are strengthened from sunshine and rain
through trials and challenges, we’ll sustain
life’s not always easy or smooth
through the darkness, we must move
together we’ll fight, to find the light
ever-present, if out of sight
always fight
for love
