Pack of Wolves

4/7/2020
A day to be remembered
A feeling not to forget
Darkness cast upon us
Nothingness besets

The sun is deep in slumber
The moon, not overhead
Howling in the distance
The wolves are craving red

I run into the void
I know not where I go
I hear the pack upon me
Better I not slow

I feel them inching closer
The devil in their grins
I know it won’t be long now
‘Fore they’re feasting on my sins

Then comes the fatal stumble
Lost in the abyss
Their hunger finally satisfied
Death blows me a kiss

Limb from limb, flesh from bone
The manic feast—they fill
Bellies gorged, mouths drip red
Onto their next kill

The sky is chillingly vacant
They patiently await
The wolves own the darkness
The pack decides your fate
