to deliver me to a world
that is not my own
i run from today
no looking back
lions chase relentlessly
one more drink is all it takes
for me to soar to safety
atop the tallest tree
so tall no lion can climb
but the hawks eye me over
as if i was their next meal
one more drink is all it takes
to shield myself
so that no hawk
nobody
nothing
can see where i am
who i am
what i've become
in this very act i have
made myself
completely
disappear
