Notion of Commotion

by ·

1/1/2021
To comprehend the notion
That yesterday’s commotion
May be here to stay

When the clock struck midnight
Dismay and delight
Filled my soul in spades

What comes to us next
Is anyone guess
But will surely come in shades

The lightness and darkness
Whether sparks or spark-less
Will be upon us today

It’s ours to hold
Shape and mold
Into a vision we create

While drowning in sadness
Breathing in madness
Erratic inspiration sublates

So lift hammer and chisel
Carve out the dismal
Don’t mind if lines aren’t straight

Art is chaotic
But the final product
Is one of loving the fray

What will become
As the clock strikes one
Is riddled with feathers and blades

I hope and show
That tomorrow bestows
Progress, not just charades

A chance to grow
From all we did not know
For better: I manifest, I pray
