when nighttime falls
my demons call
ones I've battled before
I know they will come
before the sun
opens a new day's door
they enter and dart
straight for my heart
blood thirsty hounds smell gore
I catch a gaze
a shapeless face
too deviously vile to ignore
I fight this fight
night after night
always left bound to the floor
As they return to the dark
stealing a spark
I know they'll be back for more
I pray for the day
they let me lay
the rest I need to restore
but as long as you're here
I'll live in fear
a salty, sadistic rapport
a familial bond I abhor
