Meant To Be

10/9/2024
A new day
A different way
To put a smile
On your face
Wish you grace
Find your pace
There is no sense
In standing in place
Make space
For something real
Something old
Something true
Something real
And something new
Accept the blue
Push right through
No one thing
Will ever define you
Keep being you
And good will come
Place your face
Toward the sun
Be one with the sky
Release that sigh
In this moment
You don't need to know why
Why you feel
At one with the sky
Peace is nigh
When the clouds cry
Lend a shoulder
For them to lie
Be a friend
The friend you needed
In times of dread
Of fright and fear
Do not fear
Let your heart steer
Far or near
Listen closely
And you will hear
A quiet hum
Your time's not done
Look how much
You've overcome
What once was done
Can be undone
Allow this moment
In the sun
To refresh your story
You'll become
Alive and free
Who you've always
Meant to be
