- Acceptance of my past
- Letting others into my hurt
As I remove my bandages you will see
What my past has done to me
I've spent so long hiding from sight
I forgot I'm not alone in this fight
Shoulder to shoulder you'll stand with me
Fight fire with fire we'll conquer the sea
Even when I feel miserably alone
I don't have to do this on my own
But how do I simply let you in
When my heart is raging full of sin
Don't want to expose you to my blight
For risk of infection—this isn't your fight
Without your strength I don't know how to stand
You pierce my heart hold out your hand
Then out of love you grip me tight
And tell me it will be alright
