Infuriated

Anger takes over every inch of who I am.
Who I am;
Who I was;
Who I will be.
Enclosed in a box which my rage
has quickly outgrown.
This much fury
was never meant to be contained
In a box so small.
the nails securing its lid
never stood a chance.
A fireball ready to explode,
they can no longer
pin me down.
Restraints attempting
to tame this monster
ave been ripped from their foundations.
To cage something so volatile
is to place a thin sheet
atop an active volcano;
Pretending he won't erupt:
Hopeful,
but utterly ignorant,
and knowingly foolish.
How foolish can they be?
An eruption is imminent.
Placing a lid over top will
only cause the pressure to mount.

That's it!
I can't stand it anymore.
They've tried to hold me down—
Chained me to the ground.
To suffocate me in that
tomb they call an office.
Well no more.
No!
Release me from this prison.
I'll demolish this building
stone by stone,
brick by brick,
until all I've left behind
are the crumbled ashes
from which you were once empowered.
A falsity so apparent,
you walked
into a lion's den, knowingly,
after securing a blindfold
over your own eyes.
The rest steered clear,
aware of what lay beyond
the fortress wall
intended to protect
all from what lies within.
Oh…no, you won't walk out—
You won't even crawl out.
No god, angel, spirit
can save you, now.
Mercy will not be shown.
You were warned,
time and time again,
but ego took hold
and led you straight to me.
Do not stop
to question your decisions.
Do not reflect
upon all you have done,
and all that remains undone.
None of that matters now.
You've chosen your path.
Don't be surprised
when the prophesy
becomes truth.

Don't blame the rose
when you are pricked
by her thorns.
This was your doing—
Not mine.
There is no escape, now…
