I Woke Up Today and Saw my Cat

I woke up today and saw my cat
Sleeping on the bathroom mat
I grabbed my favorite unicorn kitty
Not the one that’s itty bitty
The one that’s dressed in rainbow fur
So she’s warm and doesn’t say, “brrr”
She awoke and ate an apple today
Then she turned and seemed to say
”I think I want another one,
then I’ll lay with my face in the sun”
And went to sleep on her favorite couch
And said, “meow, I don’t want to be a grouch.”
And when she woke, the sun shined bright
On her face in the soft daylight
She drank dad’s coffee and burned her tongue
Then drank some water and ate a bun
Scarfed a strawberry and readied for nap
Fell fast asleep on daddy’s lap
