I dream of the nights
when it's simple to dream;
The nights when sleep
comes easy.
But instead I lie awake
at 3 AM—
Thinking thoughts
beyond reason.
Thoughts of highs;
Thoughts of lows;
Thoughts of friends;
Thoughts of foes;
Friends are the nights
which once let me sleep;
Foes are the nights
(like tonight)
which won't let me dream.
