how do i extend kindness to myself on a day
where my shame rises taller than redwoods?
my gaze cast low while all eyes are on me
they know my secrets and mock me for them
(if i had a tail, it would be between my legs)
i cower at the thought of my discretions
embarrassed but obliged to admit the truth
how do i extend kindness to myself on a day like today?
