How do I speak
without tongue-in-cheek
        nothing I say is real
I've chosen my words
so I'm not heard
        my truthfulness concealed
There'll come a day
when people say
        show me the real you
but even then
I'll pretend
        Joyfulness imbued
the real me
is dark, you see
        my thoughts: dangerously sharp
if you find
what's in my mind
        it's not for the faint of heart
run away
don't choose to stay
        while intriguing it may be
without a doubt
time's running out
        now's your chance to flee
