chains of indifference
shackle, imprison
bound in lonely despair
to break free
from the sorrow
these chains bring
a coveted breath
of fresh air
now down on my knees
blood on my sleeves
I faithlessly pray
you'll loosen the reins
but little do you know
for I do not show
the strength
of my spirit regained
these shackles which bind
always remind me
of all my crimes
while these chains of indifference
bring such pain
what you don't see
is they will never
define me
