A Sip of Whiskey

A sip of whiskey
To wash down
Pills of loneliness
Dismay and Despair
They go down easy
Down my throat
Into my belly
Where they dissolve
And infiltrate
My blood stream
Another sip
And all goes dark
The moment
I've been waiting for
The emptiness I feel
Is now my truth
As I glide through
The Abyss
An albatross
Soaring over
A never-ending sea
Of solitude
Free and Frightened
But the darnkess
Embraces me
With the warmth
The sun never could
Maybe one more sip
is all I need
