A Morning in North Wildwood

by ·

3/9/2017
A breeze blows cool, soft.
A velvety touch across my unshaven face,
carrying the sweet and salty scent of the sea,
A scent only broken by the aroma
of my morning coffee whispering a sleepy "hello."
The seagulls join in the welcome of this new day.
A pair of lovers sits atop a wire above the street signs
at 17th and Atlantic, resting upon the clear blue ocean sky.
An airplane passing in the distance leaves behind
A smoky story of another hundred souls.
Another sip of my coffee reminds me of my good fortune,
as the warm taste of possibility lingers on my lips.
