A Lonely Clarinet's Complaints

You aren't a musician, you can't be, no.
You think too much to be so.
"I need to stop thinking about rhythms and notes."
You need to stop thinking about "do's and don'ts."

You don't want to think about musical line;
All you seem to want to do is whine.
"I don't like making mistakes," you can't forgive;
Yet, outside of the music is where you want to live.

I want my musician to be inside
each note, each rhythm, with the music alive.
"Be one with the music," that's my plea:
Or a musician, you shall never be.
