A Day at the Beach

by ·

9/2/2018
cold sips
on my warm lips
sand slips
through my toes

the sun meets
(my) sin-kissed cheek(s)
smiles greet
my woes

(the) music sounds
laughter surrounds
waves drown out
life's throes

you lying there
in that summer/olive green chair
the salty air
gently blows

umbrellas cool
hot sand pools
seagulls school
for those

summer treats
frozen sweets
the ocean speaks
in prose

now you and I
standing by
sleepily sigh
it goes

clouds drift past
overcast
skies of blue glass
exposed

skin-tight suits
boyish brutes
the breeze we shoot
'til close

as the sun sets
quiet besets/begets
your subtle breath
let's me know

the time has come
with the setting sun
oh, what fun
we sowed

our things all packed
time to go back
don't want to go back
to disposed
