Longingly sated,
I listened and waited
for your untimely return.
Secure felt true
but you quietly brewed,
stirring patience you've learned.
My every thought you broached,
I felt you slowly approach,
blood in your eyes—malevolence churned.
I shielded my ears
to drown out my fears,
to silence what could not be heard.
I clambered and clawed,
tore at the walls,
to escape what my weakness had earned.
I despondently pled,
voices filling my head.
My resolve—steadily burned.
But your conviction led
me to the edge of your bed.
My innocence bled
until I longingly yearned
for your untimely return.
