Winding Path

by ·

2/18/2023
Before this winding path I stand
I know not where my journey leads
A tale written by my own hand
Yet no single ounce of me believes

That I can make it all the way
The end is poison, meant for me
Though I try, I cannot stray
There is where I ought to be

I stride and plod, with each fettered step
Further from home, I wander lost
Over mountains; to cavernous depths
I must keep going, knowing the cost

Why must I go, I can’t explain
The reason is not to be understood
Hell has a place which dons my name
A place I now call home for good
