wind stirs
focus blurs
blinded by doubt
heads turn
dizzy days
manic craze
wandering in this
endless maze
reality
is just a phase
that plays
and prays
often portrays
that which leaves you
in a haze
for days
and days
stuck with a phrase
'this must get better
somehow
some way'
but does it ever get better?
or does the weather get wetter?
floating along
light as a feather
ravaged by wind
my will is fettered
my chest so tight
tired of this fight
time to write
my final letter
to never be delivered
left next to the bed
where tears were shed
pain was bled
the final resting of my head
the hurt is over
what's said was said
maybe i should have
broken bread to repent
prayers unsent
the holy place
to which i went
didn't prevent
this unforgivable sin
don't say i gave up
don't say i gave in
you don't know
the hell i lived
or what i'd give
to be without
this mortal grin
as the hours wind down
muffled sounds
spin round
and round
completely surround
leaves fall down
unite with the ground
after they dance
and leap
and bound
the wind hurls them
all around
it stirs
and purs
my sight blurs
dampens and dims
sing no hymns
this is where
the end begins
this is my fate
no room for hate
did i make a mistake?
it's too late
settle in
for a lasting state
my slate glistens
hear the quiet come
close your eyes
listen
all i ask
is to be forgiven
Wind Stirs
