Utterly Inadequate

by ·

11/27/2017
Utterly inadequate
on this cool autumn day.
A feeling so piercing,
it's here to stay.
Less than myself,
miles away
from who I used to be;
it all fades to gray.

Colors abound
the world, once rife.
Now closed over,
blanketed by strife.
I used to see
the spring in life.
But all I see now
is a red-edged knife.
