Undeserv'ed Hopefulness

by ·

9/12/2018
I wait and I wait for the time to come
when you reveal yourself to me
you take your time; I take a breath
air rolls off my tongue restlessly

Patience, patience, my patience you test
I need you now more than ever
you remain elusive; you escape my grasp
like catching an airborne feather

It's the eleventh hour and you're still not here
my belief in you starts to wane
all this time... wasted on you
only questions remain

Your time is up, your time has passed
on you, I cannot rely
such undeserv'ed hopefulness
disappears into a sigh
