Unavoidable Darkness

by ·

11/6/2018
Into the unavoidable darkness, I step
With every ounce of strength I have left
Walls of thorns at every turn
Squeezing my way past hell-fire burns

I claw and drag my bloody body through
The halls of this chamber: passages reduced
Into knifing narrows which I must pass
Before my strength is at its last

Before I am lain down to sleep
I hope that hell my soul won't keep
I ask only for strength for one more step
Even if it's the last step I have left

In the end you'll come to see
Sometimes progress means to bleed
You always find darkness before you find light
Stand up to the challenge, be willing to fight
