Through the Wasteland

by ·

10/19/2015
Through this barren wasteland,
I quest.
With death all around me—
life depressed.

With one single soul—I long
to engage.
To listen, help cope, with the formidable
plague.

In silent anguish, I howl
in pain.
Cries for help go unnoticed, only myself
to blame.

Infection sets in, no one
to console.
Voices all around... in solitude
I feel whole.

To crawl from this grave—an insurmountable
feat.
To my hollow demise— alone
I retreat.
