temptation stirs about
seducing the vulnerable
with false promises of
a brighter tomorrow
they lure you with
the shortcomings
of the present
where anything is better
than where you are now
neglecting to mention
the anguish & pain
of uncertain change
sure it may be golden
with nothing but sunny skies
and warm weather
but rain always comes
and when it does
it wreaks havoc on
the unprepared
so just know that
new may lead to unknown
maybe even positive outcomes
but even roses have thorns
so be prepared
for the inevitable
don't let the first prick
scare you off
your hands will grow tough
and you will be better
off for it
as long as you are
willing to accept
upfront pain
so whether or not
you take the opportunity
toward the new
know your decision
is the right one
no matter the option
you take
