Symphony of Hurried Steps

by ·

2/15/2016
This busy street along which I walk
     Like so many mornings before
Everyone screaming as they race toward the clock
     Too hurriedly silent to ignore

A thousand faces, all looking down
     Ensuring their laces tied tight
But one single angel—my gaze she has found
In a sea of black she shines bright /wears white

Our eyes locked, we become one
     Nobody dares intervene
Distracted, shielding themselves from the sun
Resplendent, in the daylight you gleam

No one will know the beauty we share
     Busy minds, they be
Unconcerned, inward they stare
The world is just you and me
