Swallow the Moon

by ·

8/15/2024
I want to swallow the moon
So I finally know what it's like
To be illuminated by the sun
On days that are cloudy and meek
Where shadows hide
Behind curtains of doubt

To be filled with gravity
Which conducts the sea
Like a well-timed symphony
When I can't even move my feet

Shining like silver
A smile so bright
Even the lowest frown fades

To swallow the moon
Embrace my place
In the universe
Would be to realize
I belong
Among the stars
