Stomach Full of Emptiness

by ·

9/24/2019
this hole in my stomach begs to be filled
the emptiness eats away at my dwindling will
i can't go on like this much longer
a piece of me is missing
a piece i've come to forget
you ask for a miracle
all i can deliver is stark disappointment
disappointment
a taste i've come to know all too well
disappointment
forced down my throat
i choke
but breathing easy is foreign to me, anyway
so what's the difference
still, i'm hungry
hungry for satisfaction
hungry for contentment
you offer me a feast you've fed me before
rotten displeasure with a side of angst
and no matter how much i eat
this hole in my stomach continues to beg
for that which will fill the emptiness
