Still, I Sit

by ·

Still, I sit
In this cold, dark room
Unable to breathe
Unwilling to move
Tense—but why?

Bound to the bed
By my own failings
Tongue knotted in indecision
What to say?
What to keep?
To you
To myself
To anyone
Who is willing to listen

But no one listens
No one cares
The quiet calls me
Pulls me closer
Holds me tender

Don’t let go
Please
Never let go
