Sounding Off

by ·

5/9/2024
Sounding off
against the grain
wiping the scoff
bleeding insane

Rounding the bend
winning the race
smoke upends
filling the space

Thickening smog
clouding the blue
what doesn't belong
is painting a hue

Of colors mundane
a darkening sky
gripping the vane
winds blow nigh

Nails in floorboards
howl and screech
flapping of doors
calamities beseech

Where confidence stood
ripped from the ground
what once I could
now can't be found
