Since time began
to tick and tock
I've impatiently stared
at a faceless clock
Waiting for
your eventual knock
A knock that never came
Where are you
where did you go
Did you forget
or did you just not show
Why not call
and let me know
Questions that render inane
Alone in this room
I sit and wait
With a hunger that
you'll never sate
If you show now
it'll be too late
Absence ushers insane
That time is lost
it's time to progress
The past is passed
look to what's next
Don't dwell on what was
a new day's abreast
And no two days are the same
So enjoy what's now
learn from what's been
Believe in yourself
lean on a friend
Be the person
you needed back then
Don't settle for living in shame
The sins of the past
have teachings to lend
You are not to blame
Be proud of who you became
