Simple Pleasure

by ·

4/2/2024
as I wander
through city streets
the clouds rain down upon me
enveloping me in tiny euphoric bursts of life
I feel each and every bead of water
on my naked skin
with outstretched arms
and face toward the sky
I revel at all that is

soon the pace quickens
it's music to my ears
as each droplet enriches the beat
of the song that is the earth
the ebbs and flows of mother nature
keep perfect time
the breeze adds a romantic harmony

standing still and silent
I surrender to the salience
of this simple pleasure
