Shatter the Glass

by ·

10/15/2018
Thoughts of death fill your head
you resent the living; envy the dead
wondering if tonight will be your last
every time you go to bed

But as you lie deeply awake
restlessly praying your soul to take
without a future, your are only your past
it's a fateful decision only you can make

Yet the morning always seems to rise
even amidst cloudy, thickly grey skies
you know your time has yet to pass
there's so much more you realize

So when thoughts of death creep back in
and you count your everlasting sins
clear your mind; shatter the glass
today, the best of your life begins
