Set Me Free

by ·

2/26/2023
I have so much anger, ire, disgust
All this regret you left me with
You stole from me in a sudden gust
As you led me to the edge of the cliff

For all the years you were never there
A dull indifference over me washed
But your death forced you back in a way unfair
Which found me ailing and found me lost

Now as I watch my children grow
And ponder what you were to me
I promise they shall never know
The pain of a parent, never setting you free
