a complement of regret & desire
wages war in the night
the moonlight ignites the fire
illuminating every mistake in my blemished past
before the sun's salvation shines
eternal longing for forgiveness
soaking in self-imposed damnation
the sun cannot come soon enough
this nighttime firestorm boils my blood
oh! extinguish this hell!
deliver a deluge: a freeing flood
to drown the flames that scorch my charred soul
