Pain

by ·

1/29/2016
All alone I sit and wonder
whether all the pain in life is worth it.
We justify the pain as a means to a happier end.
A necessary evil—so prevalent, it becomes synonymous with life, itself.

We try to deny
our masochistic tendencies,
but deep down, we yearn for more.

Because pain,
alone, reminds me
that I truly am alive—but
I still don't know if it's all worth the pain.
