Out Of Luck

by ·

9/5/2017
When I'm down and out—
out of luck—
completely withdrawn,
don't give a fuck,
where are you
to pick me back up?
So lost, so broken, so tired.

Nowhere to go;
nothing to do.
Alone in my suffering.
Why me and not you?
Somewhere out there
I know there is blue.
But I'm hopeless, defeated, uninspired.

Once lively colors
all fade to black.
The sunlight shines in
through the tiniest crack.
Praying that happiness
will soon take me back.
Frozen, lifeless, retired.
