Numb, so numb, I feel nothing at all,
but the frantic beat in my chest.
Plagued by indifference, I begin to scrawl,
Left with this indecipherable mess.
Scratches and gashes all over the walls,
blood-curdling screams silence the halls.
Fingernail etchings bloody and raw;
A sign of my immutable distress.
What I would give to feel anything, anything;
Pleasure—no, pain—would be best.
The sweet release of crimson tears:
My ecstasy, deeper I press.
