My Wasted Day

by ·

7/22/2018
A day slept away
A day without play
Is a day not wasted
For there is no wasted day

Asleep under the sun
Can be just as much fun
As the childish games you used to play
Yet, today is no wasted day

Staring up at the clouds, the sky
Breathing fresh air through a summer sigh
Nothing can be more perfect
Nothing makes you fly so high

Thoughts soaring as your eyes gaze up
In your mind, you're blissfully stuck
Minutes, hours are not enough
To fill the world, a place so rough

Edges so jagged, a place so mean
Needs more people unafraid to daydream
Where thought trumps the way your are seen
A place more than what it seems

So when you close your eyes to lay
Or look up to the sky as dancing clouds play
Onlookers squawk as they busily portray
Just say to them "this is my wasted day"
