When my body is here but my mind is there, where am I? Do I follow my mind or my body? Maybe I am in both places, or maybe I am nowhere at all—stuck in the ether of detachment. How can I bring my mind back when it wanders so freely? Do I need it to come back now, or can I let it explore the not-yet-known and return when the journey is over? Over for now, anyway. Maybe the mind is meant to wander, away from the body, to places not-yet-know. If the mind is free to wonder—that is, to wander—then the true self lies not with the body, but with the mind, to live free and far. To reign in the mind is to hold captive the will of the imagination. I can think of no greater crime than to limit the possibility, the beauty of free thinking, and thus, free expression. For if the mind cannot wander, it should remain fixed to the body, stuck in the pale reality of subdued existence.
