Magnetic

by ·

Compelled by you, attraction unbidden
It defies all rational thought
What I crave echoes forbidden
To escape what I have sought

Your magnetic pull has no push
Your gravity holds me sound
Your passion, your electricity
A spark ignites profound

A simple touch, a casual glance
Leaves me paralyzed
A cruel dance, a fateless romance
But that flicker in your eyes

Begs me closer to the line
That which I slowly toe
You’ll loosen the ache—if I resign
Temptation only grows

Eyes closed wide to little white lies
Cheering me to go
Do I step in; give into sin
I guess I’ll never know
