I want to be
In a realm less boundary
In a world where all are seen
Bigger than you or me
Beyond the made-up borders
Which separate our states
Which separate our people
And too often decide our fates
Why can't we come together as one
Be more than the surface seems
Be more than all the people assume
Do more than anyone believes
People all in a race to win
Forgot the only truth
Forgot what it means to be human
Stolen the innocence of youth
We're expected to be better
Than the generation before
To save the generation after
No cause can be ignored
Start by looking inward
Into our very core
Look past the surface
past the scars
To become something more
Don't let the walls around us
Or directions people shout
Sway our moral compasses
Stop wings from spreading out
Reach out to one another
In unity we bond
Do the best that you can do
The world will live on
