I Numb

by ·

1/28/2019
I numb until my mouth goes dumb
praying tomorrow never comes
I blow a kiss to the setting sun
so lost I have become

I look at you and all you do
knowing you can see right through
the facade I built so no one knew
the ashes of my soul reduced

when my day's near there'll be no cheer
no trumpets on high will you hear
look at me you'll see no fear
no one around to shed a tear

when I'm gone life goes on
songbirds continue singing their song
reduced to ashes, I belong
absent of sweet memories forlonged
