i need a break
a second to take
my mind off all
the worldly hate
you can't debate
it isn't fate
maybe it's just
that we're too late
maybe the damage
is already done
maybe the thread
has been unspun
maybe i lost
maybe you won
maybe this is
thy kingdom come
horses soldiers
without any guns
come out of the sun
to battle the darkness
the world's become
what then
becomes of me
we who need
the sun to see
we who need
to believe
that love will never
ever leave
but if darkness should win
drown the world in sin
friends strangers
all our kin
begin again
with original sin
within our bones
no way to atone
weighed to the bottom
of the deluge by stones
now we're all alone
in our watery grave
no one to save
me from this hell
on display
put way your brave
no reason to stave
just cave into the sin
that darkens our days
no break in darkness
to be found
swept underground
put that smile away
you don't need it
anyway
