my lungs are heavy, filled with filth
every nice word i say about myself
is covered in a thick layer of bullshit
until the day i breathe clean air
i'll never truly believe the positive things
that leave my mouth
too long i've been inhaling soot
i've forgotten what fresh air smells like
i've forgotten how to love myself
