Head's on Fire

by ·

4/5/2024
My head's on fire; body's weak
I'm sad, irritable, everyday's bleak
brain not connected to what I speak
simple normalcy is all I seek

It's been two weeks; I know it takes time
the words don't flow, sparce: the rhymes
I know I'm not, yet I say I'm fine
are little white lies really benign?

I need to progress; move forward from here
overcome my doubts and fear
it may be weeks, months, or years
until my symptoms fully clear

but until then I'll give myself grace
take rest when needed, go my own pace
accept the patience, appreciate the space
be thankful for my family's embrace
