gone again
you've gone away
and i cant say
where you lay
all i know
is when i woke up today
you were far
far away
this hole
i've worked
so hard to fill
would it kill you
to stay
one more day
give me that thrill
before you send me uphill
make me ill
spill my pride
you chide
and deride
tear me open
from deep inside
i cry
you lie
you promise it's fine
when you know damn well
i'm walking the line
between light
and dark
it just takes a spark
to ignite
the night
destroy the blight
sword and shield
ready to fight
or the spark grows cold
and i grow old
in the darkest fold
i'm told
that some in life
are bold
cast from a gold
mold
broken not sold
and others are
cast in
fools gold
sold to he
who the short straw holds
pushed down to the dark
no spark
to ignite
light
no way to fight
to search
or scour
my outlook dour
stuck in this tower
blackened walls
no one calls
you don't call
i can't remember
where i last saw
when i last felt
your warmth
tender
maybe December
feels like forever
since we embraced
since i saw your face
almost erased
if i saw you
you'd look out of place
maybe its time
that i resign
succumb to malign
broken spine
no shine
or wine
just laying supine
recognizing
nothing is mine
my life
my own
not even mine
i walked the line
between light
and dark
no spark
just find a cave
dig my grave
jump on in
don't try and save
grab a shovel
fill then pave
all because
you went away
far away
and stayed away
i know not where
or why you betrayed
lost in the gray
now the ground
surrounds
my naked body
my soiled shroud
a fresh mound
paved and pound
to flatten one day
soon they'll all
forget my name
but i can't say
why you've gone
or where you lay
when i woke up today
you were far away
far, far away
