Garish Prose

by ·

7/23/2018
You wistfully wish
to whisk me away
with garish prose
on a summer's day
but the sky outside
is dark and gray
you definitely picked the wrong day

Maybe a day
when the sun shines bright
I'd be more willing
to join on your flight
but toady I'd rather
flee not fight
into the bounty of night

Another time
another place
you and I'd
be off to space
drinking wine
sipping taste
no one could ever replace

But today I sit
all alone
wanting no attention
just be on my own
your garish prose
I lowly bemoan
why won't you just leave me alone
