Frozen

by ·

11/30/2017
Have I forgotten
how to love
and be loved?
Digging through snow
without any gloves
my heart is as frozen
as my fingertips.

It used to be warm
a raging fire
burning, alive
completely inspired
my fingers drifting through
warm ocean waves
effortlessly, they glide.

But now I sit
and wonder if
love will return
or stay away
the icy burn
feels like home
a place I no longer know.
